MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT

Some vehicles have trouble keeping up with the speed of traffic. Look for these vehicles and adjust your speed before you reach them. Slow moving vehicles may have an orange triangle on the back as shown in the figure. This sign is a warning to slow down. Do not get impatient if you are behind one of these vehicles. The driver will usually try to pull over to the side of the road whenever possible to prevent traffic back-ups.

MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT

Farm tractors, animal-drawn carts, and road-maintenance vehicles are not designed for high speed travel and move slowly. Watch for large trucks and small, underpowered cars, and be patient, especially on long or steep hills where they lose speed. Also, when entering traffic, these vehicles take longer to get up to speed.

ANIMAL-DRAWN VEHICLES

Horse-drawn vehicles and riders of horses or other animals are entitled to share the road with you. Don't use your horn. This may scare the horses or stampede livestock or hurt the rider.
Slow down or stop if necessary and when requested to do so by the riders or herders.
