I must warn anyone who intends to go to pintos that it is an awful place to learn driving. The classroom hours consist of sitting in a room and finding your question binder, looking through it, and then looking at the answer page; there is no instruction whatsoever, and the only interaction is the occasional 10 minute video. The driving hours themselves are a joke, there are no where near enough to adequately learn driving. Pinto's Driving is also awful as far as service goes, i had missed 3 classes, one because i had to make up a test, one because i was sick, even though i called and left a message several hours prior to the scheduled session, and one where they gave me the wrong date, telling me the hours were a day later than they turned out to be, then after several unreturned calls while waiting for my driving hours, 2 days later when i called again i was informed that i could not retake any hours, that i was not cleared to take the test and that to complete the process i had to pay an additional $45 per hour, on top of the fees i paid for instruction, and the fee for setting up the test. This is an awful service; i have heard nothing but good things about academy, so i suggest that or any other driving school you can find. One star is too good a rating for them. |

the written stuff and guidebooks are fine and help u leard and pass the written test but the 8 hour driving lessons are a joke, it is not at all enough time to learn the skills of driving and is an awful waste of money, i strongly suggest going to academy or another school

I really liked this school, after having such a bad experience with my eldest son at a diffrent school, it was great to have everything done for you. They do permits and their driving test at the school. The employees are very nice and since theyre family they help you when you have a problem. I highly recommend this school to anyone. |

They're one of the cheapest in the area, it is a family business and they've been around for over 20 years, so take it in stride. It was hard to schedule slots for my kid but they handled all the DMV paperwork which alone is worth their price. Or you could teach your kid. I'd rather NOT. My daughter passed with flying colors and I'm happy. Good deal. make up your own mind. |

I signed up at the Danbury, CT school and paid $800. I was told I'd get classes and 8 hours of driving... but it wasn't explained to me until AFTER I paid that the classes aren't in Danbury, but faaaarrrr away at their Naugatuck school!
I had no way of getting to Naugatuck for the classes, so I asked for a refund, which I was denied. I would not deal with these people, I feel as if their operation is a scam and I'm out almost a grand because of them. |

They're a family business so they understand how schedules can be frustrating. they accomodate and you learn at your own pace. Instructor was very patient and professional. I'm sending my next 2 children there too. They take care of all the paperwork and hassles, I didn't have to do anything. Excellent school, family oriented. Perfect for my teen. She passed and did great. |

Take the name driving "school" very lightly if you want to go to Pintos. They hand you out things to read, tests to take, etc. So if you're no good at teaching yourself, don't bother. If you are, then you'll probably be done with the whole "school" within the first month. It was good that I could get ina nd get my liscense so quickly, but I'm not sure if it's really worth the money. If your parents aren't paying for it, I'd suggest to find somewhere better, or just go through the DMV. |

My kid used this place. Dont expect them to teach your kid to drive 100%. You will not get enough hours to learn how to drive. They do provide sufficient help to pass written test. Probably best of all...they handle just about everything including permit, taking the test, arranging the driving test at the location. Would I use them again? A marginal "yes"....but lets face it...you need driving school to get the insurance reduction. Otherwise I would handle all the things needed myself. |
