The students are the ones who need the writing test. Almost all of them appear to be illiterate.

I think that we should require a writing test of all employees at all driving schools from now on. The writing in this blog is deplorable (look it up) and the fact that you all entrusted your children with instructors that can't spell instructor is interesting. Aren't your children worth more than this? Spending 3 times what this company charged for a good instructor is worth the money. Your children's life is at stake! Driving is the leading cause of death in children between the age of 16 and 19. Don't you think it's worth a few extra dollars to ensure they get the training they deserve?

when i took driving school two years ago. i didnt have problems. it feels weird to kno that bob is that kind of person because i took a drive with him. he didnt instruct any of my classes though. he told us that his wife left him but i never thought anything of it. i feel bad for the people who got scammed. but that is really smart what bob did and from reading these reviews not even the intructors knew about this. lol. plus looks can be deceiving. just because sno king looks more nicer doesnt mean it isnt as good as any other place. i mean come on, diamond is like ... 200 bucks. if you tell them you have insurrance too they lower it. i got lucky because at sno-king i only paid 150 dollars for classes. but sorry people.

i think the employees know a lot more than they are saying. if they had the ability to take the money and deposit the money then they likely could withdraw as well. who do they think they are kidding?

I just signed my student up with Puget Sound Driving Academy which did it for the cost. Apparently they are in the process of opening a school at Mariner. They are wanting to help all of us that were effected by this.

My daughter was in the Sno-King class, now defunct. She completed four classes and then got the notice that the school (a term I use loosely!) was closed. We've since enrolled in SWERVE, who gave us a huge discount due to our trouble with Sno-King. Even the SWERVE customer service is a world of difference. Their course and their website confirm that their program will provide for more thorough and quality driver's ed and training. Mad to be out the $, but glad we're out of a bad situation with Sno-King and their inferior way of doing business and "teaching" our kids to drive.

I am so sorry to hear that so many kids have been duped. My daughter took the class last year, Jan. '07 and missed a class session. Because of a wild spring, school getting out so late, etc. we missed our 6 month "deadline" of making up the class, so my daughter had to re-take drivers ed. (Note: the 6 month deadline is state law.) Sno-King had no record of her even taking their course in the first place, so we enrolled her in SWERVE. While we take responsibility for making up the classroom session, it seems that the school could have been helpful in alerting us to it as well. (SWERVE notifies students when they're close to missing the deadline.) After hearing about the downfall of Sno-King, it looks like the handwriting was on the wall.

i would say stay away from any sno-king instructors. why were they signing up more and more kids knowing their so called boss was missing and the license was expiring, funny how the check for the license renewal didnt bounce.

I agree why did they continue to take these kids money when pay checks were bouncing and bills were not getting paid. If you read these comments, they talk about ownership changing, so these staff member know more than they say they know

The public should know we tryed to represent the school well. It was disheartening to have paychecks bounce. Bob has a bipolar condition he needs professional help. But he needs to want to seek help for himself and pay back all he has taken from everyone.

The school district has nothing to do with the school, they just let the classes be held there. The DOL has the records according to the news, and they will do their best to try to help you all.

We as parents need to get the instructors to submitt to us all of the tests the students took and also write a letter for each student who took the class to verify attendance, test scores and success and number of drives. I suggest we leave our names with the school district to help facilitate this action. These kids have gone through a 7 week course and some of them just need a certificate. I have already left a message with Jarod our instructor to give me all of my daughters tests. If I do not get a respose I will take legal action. As a group we can be more affective. from the other comments it sounds like the DOL may be helpful but it would help more if we had the class paperwork and tests.

I was an instructor for Bob for about a year. he Is an alcoholic. He flirts with the young girls, and he trys to break up relationships. He has a BAD anger problem, and is pretty shady. His family has disowned him, and Im not surprised he has taken off. He made a lot of money and wasted a lot of it on Gambling at casinos and drinking. He would throw his money around like candy. He is not dumb by all means, very wise, but very shady. He hates to be a lone so he would never would go home. Unless he was drunk. He would "Recruit" new instructors from bars, telling them he could give them a better life, make them rich, and save them from hte bar seen. He did quit drinking for a few months and he actually was doing good. But he fell off the wagon and the rest is history. I am sorry to all the people involved. He did have good instructors that cared, he was just real shady and its hard to tell what people are really like when they are good actors.

i used to be an employee at sno-king, bob is an alcoholic, he fired me for not putting a car braw onto a car that the car braw didnt fit on. AFTER i painted the bumper for the red pontiac (over the weekend, he gave me NO bonus whatsoever) and bob fired me two days later. i was thinking about it and if all the cars have full coverage insurance (which i believe they are required to) why did he buy a new bumper and have me paint it? the guy always talked about costa rica to my girlfriend while she was on her drives, and he would make up obscene stories about me and tell them to my girlfriend to try and make drama between us and he would do the same with me. He even called her parents saying she was swearing at people in the car and making fun of a special ed student. (my girlfriend is a hippie, that would NEVER happen) its really ironic that he was constantly talking about costa rica then he takes off and doesnt come back, steals everybodys money and it causes the business to shut down. he knows what he did was wrong. he is probably a pretty good candidate for suicide.

My son took this class about 3 months ago. All he has to do is the final drive to be able to get his license. Now WHAT do we do?? I am not going to pay for him to take another class. $399.00 was bad enough, the price has gone up $50.00 every 6 months. WHY??? I only went there because a neighbor had her son take the same class about 8 months prior for only $299.00. So where is all the money going?

first of all I would like to apologize to all the students and parents that have been burned by this situation. The staff at Sno-King did their best to keep the doors open and get the students finished up, unfortunately the money was cleaned out of all accounts leaving not only students without lessons but instructors without paychecks. for the students you need to do the following 1 wait 2 weeks or so for the DOL to contact you with info on your classes and drives you need to finish, if you dont hear from the DOL in 3 weeks give them a call. 2 if you were on a payment plan your checks have been voided and you should get them back in the mail, if you paid by card you can try to reverse the charges but no new charges will be applied to your card. Bobs accounts have been frozen. 3 you will have to finish your classes at another school, these should be free, unfortunately the drives will most likely cost you, the DOL is working with schools to get them to do this at cost instead of the usual price. 4 do me and future kids a favor, Call, or email our congressman and tell them its past time that driving schools be required to carry insurance to cover students in this kind of situation.
