I am sad to read so many negative comments about Cook's. My son had no issues with them at all. A driving class is not a place to "HAVE FUN" The info in the book is important and is designed to instruct the new drivers how to drive safely. If you ask your student about most of his or her classes at the school they attend, they will say that the classes are boring! As for drive time we had no issues either and...his teacher was awesome.Very calm and helpful.

Just spoke with MVA to file a formal complaint - advise all other parents to do the same. I have left 7 phone messages and 2 emails and still no reply. Was informed by MVA that an investigator is looking into this situation and would contact me tomorrow with more information. I will keep everyone posted.

I would never in a million years recommend this driving school. I've been waiting over 4 months to get my student driving. I called and called. I finally demanded my money back if someone didn't contact me to get my student driving. She has driven once. The instructor has yet to return phone calls to get the other two driving sessions in. My other student who is younger went to Greg's and was done and over in the 2 1/2 weeks it was scheduled. poor business I'd say from cooks.

This is the worst place to ever go for driving. They will allow students to do the classroom portion but when it comes to driving with the instructor they just take your money and run. My parents and I called the office numerous times the lady answering the phone is rude as anything and also tried to contact the owner mr. Jeff cook who refuses to call any of the students in my class back. My class was over a month ago and no one is our class has been allowed to do their driving we were told " call back in six months if we can't get your driving in well that's just no our problem and we could careless." Just drive past mr cooks house on the hill right next to Francis Scott Key and you'll see where all the students money goes instead of to the driving instructors to allow students to do their driving.

Classroom time was ok but teacher din not have very good control of the students. Teacher did not even address that student were playing with CPR manikins instead of learning. Was told we would receive call to set up drive time, one n=moth later heard nothing called Cooks and was told with attitude well it will be up to 6 months before we get to you. TERRIBLE customer service.

The in-class instructor was very nice and tried to make it interesting for the students. In no time my son was driving in the instructor.

My daughter went to Cooks last month and I was very impressed with the teaching. The driving instructor came to the class and had everyone scheduled to drive by the end of the classes. I would tell everyone to go to this school.

My son just finished with Cooks and it was wonderful. My son also learned things that were not in the MVA Handbook. The In Car driver ed instructor came to the class and had almost everyone signed up to drive before the end of the class. I do not know what happen before but Cooks is wonderful and I would recommend them to everyone!

I am surprised by all of the problems I am reading about. The teacher comes to your child's school. My child had no complaints. Only had a little wait to have her drive with a teacher. I would recommend this school.

Don't know about other parents but we certainly didn't like Cook's and won't use them again for our son. My daughter stated the teacher was always late for class and was boring. She took the class 7 weeks ago and just got done her first lesson. Now she has to wait another 3 weeks for her to drive some more. It shouldn't take 4 months to get this done. I agree with the other parent - either hire more people or teach less classes. My son will go somewhere else.

I have THREE kids that went through Cook's Driving Academy. Yes, scheduling driving time was slow but NONE of them were held up so long they didn't get their liscence on time. The driver comes to your house to pick up the kids- convenient! and when one had trouble with the parallel parking the driver came up and worked extra with her to help her pass. He went to MVA so she could use his small car!?! Exceptional support. I'm sorry to see so many complaints. especially from such immature people that have to resort to fowl language. Really, they weren't bad! Sometimes a nasty attitude can be contagious :( I got on here to get their phone #, to sign my next kid up. And I will

My daughter took this class and stated it was awful. Then it took another month before she was able to schedule a behind the wheel session. Four months later, she is just finishing up. The company either has to hire more people or take on less kids....

I read all these comments after my daughter attended class and was waiting on a drive date. My daughter told me that the class was boring, she already learned it from reading the manual. I will say that some kids don't learn from a manual and that they need that classroom interaction to learn which is fine, everyone learns differently. As far as getting a drive date, that came about within an acceptable time considering the amount of kids that went through her class. Everyone should just realize everything takes time...

Now they tell us about this site. Took the class in the summer and I'm just getting my drive time. Some of my friends took another company's course at Century at the same time and they were done their lessons in less than a month. Stay away!!

I wish that I had seen this rating page BEFORE I signed up with Cook's. They did have the classes, but have never contacted me about driving time. I am going to have to have my credit card company get the money back of services not rendered. Very poor service.

The classes were useless, I learned nothing I already know. The teacher was late to numerous of my classes, and we were held til later because of her mistake. I am JUST NOW getting my drive time tomorrow, but I took drivers ed in May. That's rediculous. Do not go to Cook unless you are willing to be patient with your behind the wheel hours.

Used Cook's for my son in 06 and had no problems decided to use them for my daughter and not happy at all. It's been three months and we have not had a call to schedule drive time. I've been calling them for about a month. Will be filing a complaint!

I am totally disgusted. My daughter finished her class the first week in June. She said the class was a complete waste of time, and that she learned nothing. She is an honor student athlete, and this is not something she would normally say about a class. It is now the end of July and no one has called to schedule behind the wheel. I have called 3 times and get nothing but promises. I am going to tell everyone I know to go to Greg's Driving School, and will file complaints with the BBB, MVA, Attorney General, and Carroll County Schools who let these scoundrels use their buildings. My goal is to put them out of business because they do not respect their customers. To file a complaint with Carroll County Schools write to Dr. Ecker at ciecker@k12.carr.org

this school is absolutely worthless. the lag time between the class and behind the wheel instruction is far too long. if they dont have the personnel to keep up, why continue enrolling new students?? i have some advice for the owner-- stop and catch up and THEN schedule a new group of students. Oh, but then they couldnt take your money, which they are happy to do. WE WILL NOT USE THIS SCHOOL FOR OUR YOUNGER DAUGHTER AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. We will be filing a complaint with both the MVA and the Better Business Bureau.
